Life in Britain - Bringing Culture to the Classroom

Explore the language, literature and culture of modern Britain with this two week summer language course focusing on British culture. If you are teaching English abroad this course will improve your use of ‘everyday’ English and understanding of contemporary British culture. It will help you integrate culture when you teach English as a foreign language.

Course overview

  • Life in Britain - Bringing Culture to the Classroom expands your knowledge of contemporary culture in English-speaking countries, with a focus on Britain. We explore music, media, fashion, art, law, politics, film, education and modern literature.
  • Classes are Monday to Friday from 1.15-4.15pm
  • Applicants must have an advanced level of competence in English, equivalent to Cambridge Advanced Certificate or CEF C1.
  • The minimum age is 18 years old and the maximum class size is 15 students.
